Nine people were killed and more than 20 injured when an intercity train ploughed into a lorry carrying workers near the southern Turkey town of Tarsus, the Anadolu news agency reported. The driver of the lorry appeared to have been at fault for the accident as the train had not derailed, Anadolu reported. The accident occurred at around 6:00 a.m. All of the dead and injured were travelling on the lorry. --SP 1317 Local Time 1017 GMT
