The under secretaries of agriculture ministries in member states of the Arab Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) started an extraordinary meeting here today to discuss the "Bird Flu" disease. The meeting will devise a unified strategy and opt for precautionary measures against the Bird Flu disease, especially after its spread in several parts of the world. It is worth mentioning that the GCC has taken precautionary measures in application of the early-containment policy and one of these is prohibiting birds imports from the parts of the world in which the disease has already surfaced. The GCC is made up of Saudi Arabia, The United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain and Oman.
