The General Secretariat of the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) has announced that the extraordinary Islamic summit will be held in Makkah on Dec 7-8, 2005, following consultations with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Atta-al-Mannan Bakheet, the official spokesman for the OIC, said the Islamic summit will be preceded by a preparatory conference of the Islamic foreign ministers on Dec 6, 2005. It is worth mentioning that the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdul-aziz made a call during last Hajj season for convening an extraordinary Islamic summit to review the current situation of the Muslim nation. The OIC organized last September a three-day forum for the Muslim scholars from throughout the Islamic world. The recommendations of the forum will be submitted to the extraordinary Islamic summit.
