A man set off a fire bomb in a city bus Wednesday, severely burning himself and injuring six other passengers, local media reported, according to AP. Police did not immediately comment, but there were no indications that it was an act of terrorism. Brazil hasn't had any incidents of terrorism since its military dictatorship ended in 1985. The Globo news agency reported that the man boarded the bus Wednesday morning in Barueri, a suburb of Sao Paulo, sat down in the back and, with no warning, lit the fuse on a bottle apparently filled with alcohol or gasoline. The explosion caused severe burns over 90 percent of the man's body, and the fire was extinguished by the bus driver, Globo said. No motive was given for the incident. In July, 40 people were held hostage on a bus in Rio de Janeiro, but the kidnappers were identified as common criminals and not linked to terrorism.
