He noted that the speech of the late King Fahd at the third inaugural session of the Shoura Council in 1424 AH in addition to the directives of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz to treat that speech as a working program for all executive authorities provide a clear evidence for the great attention extended by the leadership to the Shoura Council and to its members. Dr Bin Humeid pointed out that the amendments of the Shoura Council's articles 3,17 and 23 will further enable it to propose and enact regulations. 'These amendments stand as a witness for the keenness of the state on providing the Shoura Council with more authorities', he said. Dr Bin Humeid praised the efforts of King Abdullah to accelerate the process of reform and comprehensive modernization for the institutions and sectors of the state. 'It is hoped that the Shoura Council will realize the aspirations of the leadership and the citizens', he added.
