Shoura Council held its 26th ordinary session presided over by Dr. Salih bin Abdullah bin Humaid, Chairman of the Shoura Council, who, in an inaugural address, lauded the speech of the Custodian of the two Holy Mosques King Fahd bin Abdulaziz on receiving the Education Minister Dr. Mohammed Alrasheed and his ministry's senior officials as customary every new academic year. The council also lauded the speech of Crown Prince Abdullah bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Premier and Commander of the National Guard, in which he announced that part of the budget's surplus will be directed to developmental and educational projects. The council thanked Almighty Allah for the recovery of Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz, the Second Deputy Premier, Minister of Defense and Aviation and Inspector General, and wished him continuous good health. The Undersecretary of Shoura council, Dr. Homoud Al-Badr told the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) that the council then discussed social issues and listened to a report on the council's participation in the Arab Parliaments Union meeting in Beirut.
