Gunmen killed a Muslim cleric and wounded his son and another man in a drive-by attack in the southern Pakistan city of Karachi late Thursday, police said. Attackers on a motorcycle and in a car opened fire and killed Mufti Attiqur Rahman, 55, as he drove home after leaving a local mosque, said Mushtaq Shah, operations chief of the Karachi police, according to AP. A friend traveling in Rahman's van and the cleric's 10-year old son Imadur were wounded. The attackers fled. Police said the motive for the shooting was not immediately clear, but Karachi has often been hit by sectarian violence.
