At least eight people were killed and 18 wounded in a drive-by shooting on a religious centre in central Pakistan on Friday, police and community leaders said, according Reuters . The attack took place near the town of Mandi Bahauddin in the central province of Punjab. Waqar Haider, police chief of Mandi Bahauddin, said masked gunmen on three motorcycles opened fire on the worshippers in the village of Mong, about 160 km (100 miles) south of the capital, Islamabad. Six people were killed on the spot, while two more succumbed to their wounds later, doctors and community leaders said. "The terrorists were armed with automatic weapons," the police chief said and added that the gunmen fled the scene.
