U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for South Asian Affairs Christina Rocca met with Pakistan's senior foreign ministry officials Wednesday on a visit aimed at cementing the bilateral ties. Rocca, who arrived here Wednesday on a four-day visit, met with Pakistan's Foreign Secretary Riaz Muhammad Khan and other officials. She also is to meet with President Gen. Pervez Musharraf and other government officials on Thursday. Rocca's visit also began the day a delegation of Indian defense officials was due to arrive in Islamabad to discuss how they could reduce presence of troops at Siachen Glacier, the world's highest battleground, The Associated Press reported. Guns fell silent there in November 2003 when the two sides agreed for a cease-fire on the Line of Control in Kashmir.
