Police in the Siberian city of Krasnoyarsk on Sunday found the remains of five boys who went missing three weeks ago and appeared to have been murdered. The bodies recovered from a sluice some 300 metres from the children's apartment block had been deliberately burned to cover traces of a crime, a police official told the Interfax news agency. The remains were sent for forensic examination to determine the cause of death. A search operation involving 13,000 police and volunteers was launched after the boys aged 10-12 were reported missing on April 16. Detectives at the time did not rule out that they had run away from home or been abducted or harmed in an accident. --SP 1826 Local Time 1526 GMT
