Jordan's new Prime Minister Adnan Badran met with his Palestinian counterpart Ahmed Qureia in Amman Saturday to pledge Jordan's continued support to the Palestinian people in their efforts to set up an independent state. "Badran reaffirmed Jordan's keenness on extending backing to the Palestinian brethren and defending their legitimate rights, foremost the setting up of an independent and viable Palestinian state with Al-Quds as its capital," said an official statement. Qureia visited Amman to extend congratulations to Badran following his formation of a new cabinet that was sworn in by King Abdullah on Thursday. "Badran and Qureia also expressed joint keenness to continue coordination and fraternal cooperation between the two governments," the statement said.
