Minister of Finance Dr Ibrahim Al-Assaf has highlighted the significant role of the Jeddah-based Islamic Development Bank (IDB), and said the IDB has been playing a pioneering role in the service of its member states. He noted that the initiative of Crown Prince Abdullah bin Abdulaziz, the Deputy Premier and Commander of the National Guard, presented at the tenth Islamic Summit, held in Malaysia in 1424AH, will be on the agenda of the 30th annual meeting of the IDB's Governors, due to be held in Malaysia within the next four months. He noted that the initiative of Crown Prince Abdullah aims at enhancing commercial relations among the IDB's member states. On his part, Dr Ahmad Mohammed Ali, the President of the IDB, said the IDB is keen on boosting projects of social development and assisting Muslim communities in the non-member states in the fields of education, health and training.
