The 29th meeting for the governors of the Islamic Development Bank (IDB) began here today with the participation of ministers of finance, economy and planning. The delegation of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the meeting is led by Minister of Finance Dr Ibrahim Al-Assaf. The participants of the meeting are scheduled to review the initiative of Crown Prince Abdullah bin Abdulaziz, the Deputy Premier and Commander of the National Guard, announced at the tenth Islamic Summit, held in Malaysia last year, The initiative of Crown Prince Abdullah was pertaining to boosting the IDB's financial resources allocated for financing exports among the Muslim countries. They will also review the IDB's report on its activities last year, the annual report of the Islamic Organization for Investment Insurance and Exports Insurance as well as the annual report of the Islamic Organization for the Development of the Private Sector in addition to other related topics. Dr Al-Assaf and the accompanying delegation arrived in Tehran on Monday evening. He was welcomed by Dr Ahmad Mohammed Ali, the President of the IDB, and a number of other senior officials.
