Crown Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz, the Deputy Premier and Minister of Defense and Aviation and Inspector General has expressed appreciation for the efforts being exerted by the President of the IDB and its personnel in the service of the Islamic economy as well as their role in the acceleration of the wheel of development in the Muslim societies. In a cable of reply to IDB's President Dr Ahmad Mohammed Ali, Prince Sultan said the support being extended by the Kingdom to the IDB is a duty. Dr Ali had earlier sent a message to Crown Prince Sultan attached with the IDB's 34th annual report. In his message, Dr Ali highlighted the continuous support being extended by the Kingdom to the IDB. The report pointed out that the IDB approved last year $4.75 billion for financing 399 operations in 49 of the IDB'S member states and 44 of the Muslim communities in the non-member states. This will raise the accumulated financing extended by the IDB up to the end of 1429 AH to about $ 65.7 billion.
