Pakistan's Minister of State for Information Technology Ali Asjad Malhi has gone to Mauritius for a three-day visit on the invitation of his Mauritian counterpart. The minister will call on Mauritian Prime Minister Paul Berenger and Acting Minister of Information Technology and Telecommunication. Malhi would also meet Joint Economic Council, officials of CIT Authority, Central Informatics Bureau, Central Information System Division, National Computer Board, Chairman Mauritius Telecom and representatives of private sector in IT, and visit Cyber Tower. The Mauritian government is laying great emphasis on development of information technology as the fifth pillar of economy by converting island an IT hub in the Southern African region, the statement said. In this regard, it is building a Cyber Tower where IT companies have started work. There is ample opportunity for Pakistani entrepreneurs to benefit from the emerging market of IT.
