The Prosthetic Limbs and Rehabilitation Centre in the Seiyun district of Hadhramaut governorate, Yemen, has provided, in February 2023, various medical services to 324 Yemeni beneficiaries who had lost limbs, with the support of the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief). Through the project, 1,542 services were provided, of which 63% were male and 37% female beneficiaries. Displaced people constituted 18% and residents 82% of the total number of beneficiaries. Prosthetic limbs were manufactured and installed for 73 patients who then underwent rehabilitation; the process involves measurement, delivery, and maintenance of prosthetic limbs. Also provided were physical therapy services and specialized consultations; 251 patients benefited from these. These services are an extension of the humanitarian projects carried out by the Kingdom, represented by KSrelief, to raise the capabilities of the health sector and alleviate the suffering of the Yemeni people.
