The General Secretariat of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) expressed its deep regret over the recent incidents of tribal violence that took place in West Darfur, Sudan, which claimed the lives of many innocent civilians. The General Secretariat called on all parties to show restraint and to take dialogue as a means to solve all problems that arise between population groups, since Darfur has been known for its people of wisdom, tolerance and respect for the other. It offered its deepest condolences to the families of the victims who fell during these recent bloody events, expressing its hope that the Sudanese parties will adhere to the Juba Peace Agreement and the related security arrangements that return security and stability to Sudan and its people. The General Secretariat expressed its confidence that the Sudanese would be able to solve their problems through dialogue and the implementation of the Sudanese National Plan for the Protection of Civilians.
