The General Secretariat of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) expressed its strong condemnation of the heinous attack against several villages and cities in Sudan's North Kordofan State on Saturday 27th April 2013, leading to the death, injury and displacement of innocent citizens in the State and the destruction of installations and infrastructure. It also expressed its regret that the attack occurred immediately after the first round of negotiations between the concerned parties at the Ethiopian capital, Addis Ababa. The General Secretariat appealed to all parties to exercise maximum self-restraint and to continue constructive national dialogue in the interest of the Sudanese people. The General Secretariat also renewed its support for and full solidarity with the Republic of the Sudan, and its rejection of any attempts to undermine Sudan's sovereignty, stability and security.
