The Secretary General of the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC), Prof Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu, has appealed to Nigerians for calm and restraint in the wake of the recent religious violence which resulted in the loss of precious lives in Bauchi. Prof Ihsanoglu who expressed his deep regret over the unfortunate incident, urged Nigerians to shun violence and always embrace dialogue as the only means to settle differences. He further reminded them of the importance of tolerance and the need for them to continue to co-exist in harmony, peace and unity in the march towards building a virile Nigerian nation. The Secretary General then conveyed his heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims, the government and people of Nigeria and prayed to God for the quick recovery of the injured.
