Sheikh Dr. Abdullah bin Mohammed bin Ibrahim Al Al-Sheikh, Speaker of the Shura Council, received today at his residence in Bali, Indonesia, the President of the Senate of Thailand, Prof. Pornpetch Wichitcholchai, on the sidelines of the General Assembly meetings of the 144th General Assembly of the International Parliamentary Union (IPU), currently being held in Indonesia. During the reception, Dr. Al Al-Sheikh highlighted the progress of the Saudi-Thai relations in all fields with the support and directives of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, who contributed to opening a new page in the relations between the countries, looking forward to more cooperation in order to serve the interests of the two sides. The Speaker of the Shura Council praised Thai Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha's visit to Riyadh at the kind invitation of HRH the Crown Prince, hailing the restoration of bilateral ties. For his part, the President of the Senate of Thailand hailed the return of relations between Saudi Arabia and Thailand, stressing his country's keenness to develop and boost these relations in various fields, especially parliamentary cooperation between the Shura Council and the Thai Senate. During the meeting, the two sides discussed various issues of common interest and means to enhance bilateral relations, stressing the need to strengthen parliamentary relations between the two councils, through increasing all forms of bilateral coordination.
