Dr. Abdullah bin Mohammed bin Ibrahim Al Al-Sheikh, Speaker of the Shura Council, received here today Speaker of People's Consultative Assembly of the Republic of Indonesia Bambang Soesatyo within his official visit to the Kingdom. Then, the two sides held a meeting which was attended by a number of senior officials of the two countries. At the outset of the meeting, the Speaker of the Shura Council welcomed his Indonesian counterpart, affirming the importance of enhancing the joint action between the Saudi Shura Council and the People's Consultative Assembly of Indonesia and activating the joint parliamentary friendship committees in order to serve the two countries' interests. Dr. Al Al-Sheikh briefed the Indonesian official on the work mechanism of the Shura Council. For his part, the Speaker of People's Consultative Assembly of the Republic of Indonesia lauded the Kingdom's great development and growth. He hailed the outcomes of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques' visit to the Republic of Indonesia in 2017, adding that this visit consolidated bilateral relations and cooperation between the two countries in various fields. During the meeting, they reviewed a number of issues of common interest between the two brotherly countries, particularly parliamentary cooperation and coordination between the two councils. Then, the Speaker of the Shura Council held a luncheon in honor of the Speaker of People's Consultative Assembly of the Republic of Indonesia and his accompanying delegation. Earlier, Speaker of People's Consultative Assembly of the Republic of Indonesia Bambang Soesatyo arrived in Riyadh today. At King Khalid International Airport in the morning, he was received by a number of officials.
