Speaker of the Shura Council of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Sheikh Dr. Abdullah bin Mohammed bin Ibrahim Al Al-Sheikh arrived here today on an official visit to Pakistan upon an invitation from the Speaker of the National Assembly of Pakistan Asad Qaiser. Upon arrival, Dr. Al Al-Sheikh was received by Qaisar and Saudi Ambassador to Pakistan Nawaf bin Said Al-Malki. In a statement, Al-Malki stressed the importance of Dr. Al Al-Sheikh's visit to Pakistan, noting that it is part of the historical and solid relations between the two countries, adding that these ties receive the support and care of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, which reflected on the cooperation level between the two countries in various fields. In his remarks, the ambassador also referred to the level of meetings during the Speaker's current visit to Islamabad, which include important discussions to go over means to further enhance bilateral relations, mainly in parliamentary issues and joint relations, commending the important roles of Dr. Al Al-Sheikh in enhancing the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's ties with various friendly and brotherly countries through activating parliamentary diplomacy and consolidating cooperation with various parliaments. He also noted that the Shura Council and National Assembly enjoy constructive cooperation relations, where both sides have established an organizational framework through signing a cooperation memorandum of understanding in Riyadh to prepare mechanisms that can contribute to supporting bilateral ties at the parliamentary level and other levels that can realize the interests of the two brotherly peoples and countries. The diplomat also expressed hope that this visit will contribute to opening new wider aspects of cooperation, coordination and joint action between the two sides through boosting parliamentary ties between the Shura Council and the Pakistani Parliament with its two chambers of the National Assembly and the Senate. Dr. Al Al-Sheikh's accompanying delegation comprises several members and officials of the Shura Council.
