Speaker of the Shura Council Sheikh Dr. Abdullah bin Mohammed bin Ibrahim Al Al-Sheikh led its delegation, participating in the meetings of the 141st Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), and the meetings of the 205th session of the IPU Governing Council, held in Belgrade, Serbia under the theme: "Strengthening international law: Parliamentary roles and mechanisms and contribution to regional cooperation", with participation of more than 1700 parliamentarians. In a press statement, Dr. Al Al-Sheikh reaffirmed the keenness of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, under the leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and HRH Crown Prince to, effectively, took part, in the international and regional parliamentary forums, to reflect the Kingdom's position and its important role in achieving security, peace and stability, in the region and the world, as well. Shura Council delegation will participate in the coordination meetings of the Arab and Islamic groups in the IPU to coordinate and formulate positions on the issues that will be discussed, and to consider the emergency issues that need to be addressed, in the discussions of the session, he added. On the other hand, Secretary General of the Shura Council Mohammed bin Dakhil Al-Mutairi, is to participate in the works of the meeting of the General Secretariat of the IPU council, which will be held on the sidelines of these meetings.
