After earlier gains, supported by an overnight gain on Wall Street, the Tokyo stock market closed Wednesday's session slightly lower, traders said. The 225-issue Nikkei average ended at 11,405.34, down 17.92 points, or 0.16 per cent. The Topix index of all first section issues shed 0.91 points, or 0.08 per cent, to stand at 1,144.30. At 3 p.m. (0600 GMT) the U.S. currency was quoted at 102.38-40 yen, down from 102.57-59 yen at the same time Tuesday. The euro was quoted at 1.3026-29 dollars, down compared with 1.3043-45 Tuesday.
