Crown Prince Abdullah bin Abdulaziz, the Deputy Premier and Commander of the National Guard, paid here today a visit to the Polish Siamese twins who were successfully separated at King Abdulaziz National Guard Medical City in Riyadh on Monday evening. The two Siamese twins had undergone the surgery at the expense of the Crown Prince. Upon arrival at the Medical City, the Crown Prince was received by Minister of Health Dr. Hamad Al-Manei, Executive Director General of the National Guard Health Affairs Dr. Abdullah Alrabee'a who led the Saudi medical team in conducting the separation surgery, other officials and Poland's Ambassador to the Kingdom. The Crown Prince was reassured about the twins' health condition and they woke up from anesthetization and had the first suckling in the Crown Prince's presence. Replying to a question from reporters, the Crown Prince said that his initiative on separating the twins stems from the humanitarian aspect of Islam and the Saudi people who adhere to the Islamic religion, expressing his pleasure to see that the twins had milk for the first time in his presence. The Crown Prince praised the medical team and their success in conducting the operation. The Crown Prince was accompanied by Prince General Miteb bin Abdullah bin Abdulaziz, Assistant Deputy Commander of the National Guard for Military Affairs, and a number of officials.
