The Secretary General of Arab Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Abdulrahman bin Hamad Al-Atiyyah has pointed out that the GCC Summit due to start here on Monday will discuss a number of important topics including the timetable of monetary union, the issuance of a unified currency, the moves of implementing the Common Gulf Market and the law of industrial organization. In a statement to the Saudi Press Agency, Al-Atiyyah said that the Summit will also review political and security issues particularly the combating of terrorism, the latest developments on Iran's occupation of the three islands of the United Arab Emirates, relations with Iran, the situation in Iraq, the Palestinian cause, and peace process in the Middle East. He noted that a new Gulf Commission for Standardization will be set up in Riyadh.
