Prince Abdulaziz bin Ahmed bin Abdulaziz, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Middle East Africa Council of Ophthalmology (MEACO), who is also the Global Ambassador of the International Agency to Combat Blindness, inaugurated, virtually, the 15th International Conference of MEACO, in conjunction with the Second World Glaucoma Conference in Tunisia, which lasts for four days. At the opening of the conference, Prince Abdulaziz explained that the two conferences will discuss this year the most important developments in ophthalmology, in presence of doctors, consultants and specialists from the five continents, hoping that this conference will bring scientific benefit to doctors, optometrists and workers in the field of ophthalmology and surgery and the prevention of visual impairment. He indicated that the number of participants in this year's conference reached 3000, in addition to 20 seminars, 100 scientific papers and 98 international speakers from five continents to exchange information and achievements. At the conclusion of the conference, organizers presented the Excellence Award for Combating Visual Impairment to Prince Abdulaziz bin Ahmed, in recognition of his leading and influential role in the field of ophthalmology in general and combating visual impairment for more than 30 years in particular.
