A magnitude-6.6 earthquake rattled north-eastern Japan on Saturday, dpa quoted the country's authorities as saying. There were no immediate reports of casualties or damage to property. The Meteorological Agency did not issue a tsunami warning. The quake occurred at 10:27 am (0127 GMT) with an epicentre off the coast of Miyagi prefecture at a depth of 60 kilometres, the agency said.
