Saudi newspapers highlighted in their editorials today a number of issues at local, regional and international arenas. Al-Riyadh, Al-Bilad, Al-Eqtisadiah, and Al-Yaum newspapers reported in their editorials that many countries around the world have welcomed the Kingdom's initiative to end the crisis in Yemen, for its included proposals that constitute a starting point for a political process between the Yemeni parties, which will lead to resolving the crisis that resulted from the Houthi coup who committed crimes and terrorist attacks against the Yemeni people and the neighboring countries, especially Saudi Arabia. The initiative comes in continuation of the Kingdom's initiatives and supports the United Nations efforts in order to reach the desired political solution under the auspices of the United Nations based on the references of UN Security Council Resolution 2216, the Gulf initiative and its implementation mechanism, and the outcomes of the Yemeni national dialogue. The newspapers added that the Kingdom's initiative is in line with the efforts of the United Nations in Yemen, as it includes all concerned parties under the auspices of the UN, and the Houthis should seize the opportunity to become real partners in establishing peace in Yemen. The most important point in all of this is related to the Houthis themselves, who must fulfill their obligations, as the initiative includes a comprehensive ceasefire across the country, the newspapers added. The regional and international support for this initiative, as well as the global affirmation of the Kingdom's full right to defend its land, citizens and residents from the systematic attacks carried out by the Iranian-backed Houthi militia against civilian areas and vital installations that not only target the Kingdom's national interests, but also target the core of the global economy and its supplies, as well as global energy security, affirm that the Houthi militias and those behind cannot move forward with the terrorist behavior, the newspapers concluded.
