Published in Saudi Press Agency on 23 - 03 - 2021

Saudi newspapers highlighted in their editorials today a number of issues at local, regional and international arenas.
Al-Riyadh, Al-Bilad, and Al-Yaum newspapers reported in their editorials that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia continues to announce initiatives in order to end the Yemeni crisis that the Yemeni citizen has paid its price, as all the Kingdom's initiatives come in the context of the efforts that have been and are still being exerted to bring peace to Yemen.
The newspapers pointed to the Kingdom's announcement about an initiative to end the Yemeni crisis and reach a comprehensive political resolution.
The initiative included the following proposals: A comprehensive ceasefire across the country under the supervision of the United Nations, depositing taxes and custom revenues for ships carrying oil derivatives to the port of Hodeidah in the joint account of the Central Bank of Yemen in Hodeidah, in accordance with the Stockholm Agreement on Hodeidah, and reopening of Sanaa International Airport to a number of destinations.
The start of consultations between the Yemeni parties to reach a political resolution to the Yemeni crisis under the auspices of the United Nations based on the references of UN Security Council Resolution 2216, the Gulf initiative and its implementation mechanism, and the outcomes of the Yemeni national dialogue.
The newspapers further said that these aforementioned details of the initiative and the rest of statement of Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah, Minister of Foreign Affairs, demonstrate the Kingdom's eagerness to support peace options and all efforts and endeavors aimed at it, as it always supports all efforts aimed at safeguarding the safety of people and preserving the security and stability of the region and the world.
The international community should support the initiative, work for its success and deter the terrorist behavior of the Iranian regime, the newspapers concluded.
In another context, Al-Eqtisadiah newspaper reported in its editorial that Saudi Arabia has a long history in space sector since that historic trip of Prince Sultan bin Salman, in which the first Arab satellite "Arabsat" was launched in 1985, and between 2000 - 2021, the Kingdom managed to launch 17 satellites into space.
Moreover, two satellites Shahin Sat 17, affiliated with King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology (KACST) and CubeSate Satellite, affiliated with King Saud University (KSU), were launched yesterday from the Baikonur Base in Kazakhstan on board the Russian Soyuz 2 Rocket.
This affirms that the space sector is part of an action program that has been developed with the Kingdom's Vision 2030, the newspaper added.
According to a study conducted by the "Morgan Stanley" bank estimated that the "space economy" would exceed a trillion dollars in 2040. The Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) also expected investment returns to range between $280-300 billion.
Therefore Saudi Arabia seeks to achieve great progress in this field as a part of its plans to diversify the Saudi economy.
