Gold in London closed at US$411.55 bid per troy ounce, up from US$410.90 on Tuesday. In Zurich the bid price was US$411.38, up from US$411.13. Financial institutions in Hong Kong, including the stock and gold markets, were closed Wednesday for a public holiday. Silver opened in London at US$6.57 bid per troy ounce, down from US$6.58.
