Pakistan Foreign Secretary Riaz Khokhar has left for the Netherlands and Switzerland to discuss bilateral, regional and international issues with his hosts, an official statement said. Khokhar would lead the Pakistan delegation at the meeting with European Union (EU) Troika in the Netherlands. The Troika consists of the Netherlands (the current EU president), Luxembourg (the next EU president), and the representatives of the European Commission and the European Council Secretariat. The foreign secretary will meet his counterpart for annual bilateral consultations in Berne, Switzerland. In the Netherlands and Switzerland, Khokhar will exchange views with officials on the Pakistan-India relations, the latest developments in Afghanistan and Iraq, the Middle East peace process and counter-terrorism issues. The emphasis of both the visits would be to discuss ways to add more substance to the friendly relations of Pakistan with the European Union and Switzerland, the statement said.
