A Pakistani plane with 276 people on board was forced to make an emergency landing soon after take-off from this eastern city when one of its engines caught fire, an official said Tuesday. The state-run Pakistan International Airlines' Airbus 300 landed safely at Lahore airport, and no injuries or major damage was reported. The PIA flight PK-643 was carrying 261 passengers and 15 crew members. The engine fire was caused by a "technical fault," said Nasrullah Khan, director of Lahore airport. Khan said the flight took off an hour later using a different PIA plane.
