A Pakistan International Airlines jet made an emergency landing at the airport in the southern city of Karachi on Thursday after an engine failed during take-off on a flight to London, airline officials said. No one was hurt. The Boeing 747 jet managed to take-off from the eastern city of Lahore at 10:40 a.m. (0540 GMT) with only three of its four engines working, but was diverted to Karachi, where it touched down safely. Some 433 people were on board flight PK757, including 13 crew. "A bird hit the plane's engine after take off," said Samina Pervez, a PIA spokeswoman in Karachi. "It landed in normal conditions," she said.
