The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, represented by the Communications and Information Technology Commission (CITC), has hosted here the meeting of the Arab Standardization Team, which was held under the umbrella of the General Secretariat of the Arab League. The meeting aimed at discussing and exchanging views and preparing for works of World Telecommunication Standardization Assembly from various Arab countries on a number of current standardization topics. The participants reviewed the main outcomes of the previous meeting and the outcomes of the International Telecommunication Union Council related to standardization. They also reviewed a report on the vision of the ITU Telecommunication Standardization Sector (2021-2024), the restructuring of ITU standardization study groups, and the main outcomes of the latest meeting of Telecommunication Standardization Advisory Group (TSAG). During the three-day meeting, the Regional Team for the Arab Region of the ITU Study Group No. 20, chaired by the Kingdom represented by the Director General of International Affairs at the CITC, Eng. Abdulrahman bin Mohammed Al Hassan, held a session where he discussed a number of topics related to the work of the specialized committee of Internet of Things and Smart Cities and Communities.
