A senior Sudanese official has lauded the support extended by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Sudan. Speaking at the reception party held here on Friday in honor of representatives of the relief organizations working in Darfur province, governor of North Darfur Othman Mohammed Kaber expressed appreciation for the continuous assistance extended by the Kingdom to the displaced people in Darfur. The reception party was attended by Dr Abdulrahman Al-Suweilim, the President of the Saudi Red Crescent Society and Head of the Saudi Relief Delegation. On the other hand, Erik Daimour, the Representative of the UN's Secretary General at the Joint Committee for Monitoring the Situation in Darfur, highlighted the significant role played by the Kingdom in assisting the displaced people in the western Sudanese province. 'The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has been positively contributing to relieving sufferings among the displaced people in cooperation with the Arab and international organizations', said Daimour.
