Israeli foreign minister to meet French leaders

Israel's foreign minister was expected in
France on Tuesday to meet with top officials about how to
stem a four-year wave of violence against French Jews that
shows no signs of easing.
Foreign Minister Silvan Shalom was to meet with Interior
Minister Dominique de Villepin, Foreign Minister Michel
Barnier and leaders of the Jewish community.
Shalom's apparently sudden visit comes just days after an
arson fire destroyed a small Jewish community center in
eastern Paris.
