The Saudi border guards on Sunday evacuated a 45-year-old Indian sailor from a floating platform carrying a Djiboutian flag called Sultan, the Border Guard's official spokesman Lieutenant Colonel Misfer bin Ghannam Al-Quraini said. He added that in the context of carrying out the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's tasks according to the International Convention for Maritime Search and Rescue of 1979, and in the framework of the humanitarian tasks of search and rescue operations by the border guards, the maritime patrols received a call to provide urgent assistance to evacuate the patient from the platform, about 92 nautical miles northwest of the northern entrance of Farsan Island.
