The Saudi Program of Development and Reconstruction for Yemen (SDRPY) participated in the annual session of the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations for the work of the humanitarian affairs and development part, with the participation of the delegation of Saudi Arabia in the meetings held here today. The Kingdom's Permanent Representative to the United Nations in Geneva, Ambassador Abdulaziz bin Mohammed Al-Wasel, delivered the Kingdom's speech, referring to the Kingdom's development efforts in Yemen through (SDRPY). He explained that Saudi Arabia had established the (SDRPY) as a strategic development initiative aimed at assisting the Yemeni Government in improving the level of basic services. In his speech during the general debate, Al-Wasel stressed that (SDRPY) is working to provide employment opportunities for Yemeni brothers and support the Yemeni economy. He also pointed out that the projects of (SDRPY) have so far reached (68) projects in (7) basic sectors including: health, education, energy, transportation, water, agriculture and fisheries.
