The eighth GCC youth forum ended nine days of cultural and athletic activities in this resort city in southwest Saudi Arabia. At least 300 university and college students between 17 and 21 years old took part in the activities. The annual gathering was organized by the Riyadh-based World Assembly of Muslim Youth. Activities included memorization of the Holy Qur'an, self-management seminars, sports contests and religious lectures. The GCC is comprised of Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Bahrain and Oman.
