The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has strongly condemned the terrorist attacks perpetrated on Thursday 25 and Friday 26 April 2019 in Mali, Mopti region, and Burkina Faso, Koulpelogo province, respectively, during which about 20 people were killed and many others injured. The Secretary General of the OIC, Dr. Yousef A. Al-Othaimeen, expressed his sincere condolences to the families of the victims and to the Governments of Mali and Burkina Faso. He indicated that the perpetrators of terrorist acts will always be considered the enemies of peace. In reiterating the solidarity of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation with Mali and Burkina Faso, the Secretary General encouraged countries to coordinate efforts to identify those responsible for the violence, who should be brought to justice. Dr. Al-Othaimeen once again reaffirmed the position of the OIC that rejects terrorism in all its forms and manifestations and the OIC's support for initiatives and efforts aimed at maintaining the security, peace and stability of the countries in the Sahel region.
