Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Dr. Yousef Al-Othaimeen has issued a vigorous condemnation of the terrorist attack carried out by an armed group of individuals against the station of the territorial police in the city of Djibo, Burkina Faso on 18 October 2018. Dr. Al-Othaimeen expressed his condemnation of the recurrent terrorist attacks targeting the Defense and Security Forces and the peaceful population in Burkina Faso. He further underlined that the terrorist groups standing behind the aggravated security situation in the region must be tracked down, arrested and brought to trial. The OIC Secretary General presented his condolences to the bereaved families along with his best wishes of prompt recovery to the injured. He also reaffirmed the OIC's principled and emphatic rejection of terrorism in all its forms and assured the Government of Burkina Faso of his unfailing support for all efforts put in for the consolidation of security and stability in Burkina Faso as well as in all the other countries in the Sahel region.
