HE Mr. Mohammed Al-Jadaan, the Minister of Finance, will visit – today - the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, where he will meet with his counterparts from the United Arab Emirates, the State of Kuwait, and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan as part of the obligations and resolutions agreed at the Makkah meeting on Sunday, 10 June 2018, with the leaders of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, the State of Kuwait and the United Arab Emirates which aimed at providing ways to support Jordan to overcome its financial crisis. During the Makkah meeting, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the State of Kuwait and the United Arab Emirates agreed on backing Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan with an economic aid package which includes: a total deposit of $ 1 billion to the Central Bank of Jordan, $ (600) million World Bank guarantees and an annual support to Jordanian State budget of $ (150) million over 5 years. Moreover, the development funds in these three countries (Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, and UAE) would be obligated to contribute $ 50 million per country (paid once and immediately) to build schools in Jordan within the support programs that serve the education sector.
