Secretary General of Arab League Dr. Ahmed Aboul Gheit welcomed the initiative of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, to hold the Makkah Summit, with participation of Jordan's King Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein, Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, Emir of Kuwait, and Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashed Al Maktoum, Vice President of the United Arab Emirates, Prime Minister, and Governor of the Emirate of Dubai, aiming to support the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan to overcome the current economic crisis. The Secretary General expressed his appreciation and gratitude for the efforts made by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to promote Arab solidarity. In a statement issued today, spokesperson of the Arab League's Secretary General Minister Plenipotentiary Mahmoud Afifi said that the Secretary General praised the positive results of the summit and the economic support provided for the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.
