President of Saudi General Authority of Meteorology and Environment Protection Dr. Khalil bin Musleh Al-Thaqafi opened today the 2nd session of Arab Ministers Council for Meteorology and Climate at Arab League headquarters in Cairo. In his opening speech, Dr. Al-Thaqafi said that the meeting is held in light of the urgent need to raise the level of coordination between our countries to improve the level of meteorological services through cooperation and exchange of expertise between our countries, as we consider the magnitude of the challenges and climatic conditions in the Arab region, and the increasing threats resulting from extreme weather events, which are no longer hidden to anyone, pointing out that this makes the development of meteorological sectors and meeting the needs of our communities in this area essential.
