The President of the Saudi Press Agency Abdullah bin Fahd Al-Hussein and the Chairman of the General Authority for Meteorology and Environment Protection Dr. Khalil bin Musleh Al-Thaqafi signed at the headquarters of "SPA" in Riyadh today a cooperation agreement between SPA and the Meteorological Authority to enhance cooperation between the two sides in the field of environmental media in general and to upgrade the awareness of society on climate situations and changes and the environment in particular. The aim of the agreement is to raise the environmental awareness of the members of the society to the best use of SPA's experience in the field of media, and that of the Meteorology authority in the field of reliable climate and environmental information as well as environmental studies and researches and mutual training. In remarks following the signing ceremony, Abdullah Al Hussain, the president of SPA, said that the agreement will contribute to enhance the integration of accumulated experience in the media and environmental fields of the two sides, leading to the creation of cultural illumination content and reliable newsletters reaching the recipient via SPA news website and networks of social communication around the clock, citing the main and official source of the news and reports: the General Authority for Meteorology and Environmental Protection. He added that SPA aims to harness its news and technical capabilities to serve its recipients through delivering reliable messages in record time to every citizen and resident in the Kingdom on climate conditions and changes, positioning itself as their most reliable source of climate news, reports and forecasts. Al-Hussein went on to say that SPA provides daily messages on the weather conditions and changes taking place in the various regions of the Kingdom, the moment it receives them from the General Authority for Meteorology and Environment Protection. To activate the agreement, SPA has designed an icon on its website to immediately re-produce the authority's reports through its diversified media outlets, he added. --More 17:41 LOCAL TIME 14:41 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/1717113
