Official spokesman for Coalition Forces Supporting Legitimacy in Yemen Colonel Turki Al-Malki said in a statement today that at 09:31 p.m., the Coalition's air defense forces have spotted the launch of a ballistic missile by Iranian- backed Al-Houthi militia from Yemeni territories (Saada Governorate) towards the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. He said that the missile was deliberately targeting Jizan city with its civilian and populated areas, yet, it was intercepted and destroyed by the Royal Saudi Air Defense Forces resulted in scattering its shrapnel debris on the residential neighborhoods and there was no reports of any casualties or damage until the time of preparing this statement. Colonel Al-Malki further said that this hostile action by Al-Houthi coup militia being supported by Iran proves the continued involvement of the Iranian regime in supporting Al- Houthi armed militia with qualitative capabilities in a clear and explicit defiance and violation of UN Resolutions No. 2216 and No. 2231 in order to threaten the security of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia as well as the regional and international security, pointing out that firing ballistic missiles to target populated cities and villages is contrary to international humanitarian law.
