Eng. Abdullah Al-Swaha, Minister of Communications and Information Technology, paid here today a visit to the headquarters of the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) in Al-Sahafah district of Riyadh. Upon arrival, Eng. Al-Swaha was received by Abdullah bin Fahd Al-Hussain, President of the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), and a number of the SPA officials. Then, the Minister of Communications and Information Technology toured the SPA departments and sections, including Information Technology, Photography, TV Production, Local and International News Editing and New Media. He was briefed on the work process of the Agency's departments, sections and halls in addition to the news bulletins, including six languages: Arabic, English, French, Persian, Russian and Japanese. Eng. Al-Swaha was also briefed on the platforms of social media through "Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Telegram and Snapchat." For his part, the Minister of Communications and Information Technology expressed his admiration for the SPA technical and professional progress in dealing with the volume of daily news from various sources and preparing various news items as well as broadcasting these items to various media outlets. Eng. Al-Swaha expressed the ministry's readiness to provide technical consulting and support for SPA.
