Minister of Culture and Information Dr. Awwad bin Saleh Alawwad has paid a visit to the headquarters of the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) here. Dr. Alawwad, accompanied by SPA President Abdullah bin Fahd Al-Hussein, made a tour during which he was briefed on the process of work in the departments of news, editing and photography and on SPA technical and editorial capabilities for working and dealing with various media sources. The Minister's tour included news editing, multi-language bulletins and translation departments, and computer and media centers during which he met their staff and was briefed on an explanation on the mechanism of work, stages of news broadcasting via SPA automatic system and transmitting on the agency's portal and new media devices. The tour also included financial and administrative departments, information technology, media monitoring, information center, and new media. Minister Dr. Alawwad directed to exert all efforts to promote the Saudi Press Agency's news work, commending its development through relying on the most recent technology in broadcasting the media contents inside and outside the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, receiving from abroad and international news agencies, and broadcasting the most important news and photos via social media sites, wishing it the best of luck and every success. He also directed to exert all efforts and hard and fruitful work so that the Saudi Press Agency continues its missions, responsibilities and roles in providing distinguished media work that enjoys the confidence of all, keeps abreast of the country's growth and development in various fields and its great presence regionally and internationally in political, economic and cultural fields, and conveys the true voice and image of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the world at large, expressing his thanks to the Agency's staff for their great efforts.
