Afghanistan has been hit by a 5.4-magnitude earthquake early Monday, according to an alert from the US Geological Survey. The epicentre of the quake was 204 kilometres deep, in a remote village of the Kuran wa Munjan district in Badakhshan province in north-east Afghanistan. USGS said the earthquake hit around 4 am (2330 GMT Sunday). So far, there have been no reports of damage. Some people in the bordering Pakistan region said on social media that they felt the tremor, dpa reported.
